Professor Abolfazl Eslami received his Ph.D. in 1996 from the University of Ottawa, Canada, under the supervision of Prof. B.H. Fellenius, specializing in deep foundations. Priorly, he worked as a research fellow at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver under the late Prof. R.G. Campanella’s mentorship performing projects related to in-situ testing. During the past 30 years, he has served as a professor at the University of Guilan and Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT). Prof. Eslami is an internationally recognized authority as a researcher and a practitioner in the field of in-situ testing, foundation system, and ground engineering. He has done so through his academic state-of-the research and his professional consulting activities as founder and chairman of Sham-e Consulting Engineering Company. He has published more than a hundred peer-reviewed journal articles as well as a few books. His latest book, "Piezocone and Cone Penetration Test (CPTu & CPT) Applications in Foundation Engineering" was published by Elsevier. Currently, Prof. Eslami is a visiting research scholar at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He is also co-authoring a textbook and sourcebook titled “Advanced Foundation Engineering” in collaboration with a colleague at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
