Major Accomplishments
- Developing Unicone method (Eslami & Fellenius, DFI (Fulcrum), 1995; CGJ, 1997),
implemented worldwide for pile design using CPT and CPTu records
- Fabrication of Frustum Confining Vessel (FCV-AUT), Large-scale physical modeling
apparatus for CPT, helical and anchor piles testing, simulating field situations up to 250 kPa
- Compiling AUT; Geo-CPT & Pile Database comprising 600 records of pile axial loading
- tests along with adjacent CPT or CPTu profiles including offshore and nearshore records
- Publication novel papers on deep foundations issues in well-known international journals
such as DFI, CGJ, ICE, MGG, Georisk, ASCE (IJOG), PEM and SAOS
- Serving as senior advisor and supervisor for the feasibility study of a novel gravity base
foundation system for offshore wind turbines in the North Sea, in 2022
- Giving various postgraduate courses such as Marine Geotechnical Engineering, Application
of Deep Foundations in Offshore Structures, Ground Improvement, Advanced Foundation
Engineering, Site Investigation, In-situ Tests Applications in Geotechnical Engineering
- Collaborating as a peer referee for several well-known journals
- Organizing and holding several workshops on CPT & CPTu applications, foundation
systems, adjacent buildings construction, ground improvement, uncertainty & reliability
applications, and sustainable geo-structures
- Being involved as co-author of Advanced Foundation Engineering book under an agreement
with Wiley Publisher Co. and visiting scholar in UCSD in 2023
